Gold Mines in Arizona
Arizona is a land rich in minerals. According to the BLM there are more than 35,000 active mining claims on Arizona’s public lands. The exact amount of unclaimed mines is unknown, but gold mines in Arizona abound. The best estimate comes from a mid-1990’s survey conducted by Arizona State Mine Inspector’s Office (ASMI). They surveyed mines in high traffic recreational areas. From their survey they estimated that there may be as many as 24,183 abandoned mines in Arizona. Many of these mines are insignificant; shallow trenches or small exploration pits, but some of the abandoned claims are substantial gold mines. We survey hundreds of Arizona mines and sell only the best claims.

Silver Mining in Arizona
Silver mining in Arizona was a powerful stimulus for exploration and prospecting, that was especially true in the early days. Silver production through 1981 totaled 490 million troy ounces. However, only about 10% of Arizona’s silver production came from silver mining. More than 80% of the state’s silver was a byproduct of copper mining; other silver came as a byproduct of lead, zinc, and gold mining.
