Property Overview
The Boriana Mine is one of the largest Tungsten Mines in the state if not the largest. The mine resides in the Boriana District in Mohave County and encompasses 120 acres, which covers all of the workings and portals on the property.
The Boriana contains excellent copper values, however, the milling process for copper is far different than that of tungsten so the blue mineral has been largely ignored. The blocked tungsten reserves in the mine average 6.5% copper, over 6.7 million lbs. This is in defined assets. There is also substantial copper in the dumps on the site. The average grade of the dumps is 4% copper per ton.
The mine last operated in the early 1980s with the hope that Tungsten could be sold to the government again. This venture was unsuccessful.
The copper on the site has never been addressed, except when noted as reserves.
The mine gained the moniker of “King of Copper” sometime in the early 1980s as the copper content is so high. The main portal, the 500, has been closed since at least 1977.
The mine is a massive undertaking but holds potential for substantial recovery. The dumps are measured at least 380k tons with copper values from 4-19%
There is some trace gold and silver that have been noted at the property, but not enough to be a viable asset.
The property will need to be de-watered as the main drift (500) is noted to be full of water. The water is not contaminated or polluted as evidenced by the hundreds of fish that swim in the pond that is fed from the mine.
This is a commercial grade property that will require extensive permitting and bonding to be worked at a profitable return.
Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc. offers mining and mine development consultation if necessary for a nominal fee.
Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc. does offer mining consultation services and assistance with permits for a small fee.
