Property Overview
What may be one of the highest, usable buildings in the United States at 13,568' sits on the Margarite Property at Mosquito Pass. The property straddles Lake and Park County, with 43.59 Acres on the Lake County Side and 70 acres on the Park County side. A gate to the property seems redundant at 13,340', but is usable and allows for access to the building on the established road.
Located on Mosquito Pass, the region is a high section of the Mosquito Mining District, known for gold deposits along with silver and Garnet gems.
The building on top was used as a radio repeater station for many years. It is roughly 1000 sq.ft inside - It was upgraded in 2024 with new batteries and a stationary solar array. Built with solid masonry and insulated with walls that are almost 15 inches thick. It could be repurposed and expanded.
There are also several mines on the property. The Disberger, worked for Gold. The Cornish Wall Mine, also worked for gold, reported dark red garnets up to 18inches. The New York Mine and the Baltic also are on the edge of the property and were successfully worked for gold.
Rare, one of a kind property. The kind that will likely never be seen again. Go ahead and look around for other high country properties with established buildings and development potential.
Gold Rush Expeditions, Inc. does offer mining consultation services and assistance with permits for a small fee.
